In My Absence… I’ve Learned

I’ve been gone for a while but I have learned some things in my absence. For instance I’ve built two new projects and in both of them I got some experience working with APIs. My first project was to build a Random quote machine. I found that work with AJAX is a bit tricky. I scoured through at least 50 pages of documentation trying to find good examples. All in all, once you get the hang of it you can do some pretty interesting things with APIs. For my second project I built a Local weather viewer using the browser’s navigator.geolocation. I also approached this project from a second angle using the user ip address just in case their using a mobile device whose browser doesn’t support navigator.geolocation or if they’re using chrome which blocks the call from certain places.

Now for a quick shout out. If you every want to find some useful tips and trick search CSS Tricks using the search box in the header. It will take you to a ton of useful articles. Good luck everyone. Code on!
